Fetsund timber booms

The scenic Fetsund timber booms in the Nordre Øyeren nature reserve is a fantastic hiking area. The red old rest barracks on Glomma river are a popular Instagram motives. Ramme farm and Ramme fjord hotel

In lovely Hvitsten you will find Ramme farm and Ramme Fjord hotel. A unique destination and hidden gem that must be experienced. Go on a guided garden walk in Havlystparken, meet the animals, eat organic local food, walk in Munch's footsteps and spend the night the boutique hotel. Visit Ramme to add some magic to your Instagram grid.

Drøbak

Drøbak is one of Norway's most idyllic coastal towns, with small cozy wooden houses and a varied and exciting natural landscape. Take your time to wander through the small streets. You shouldn't leave Drøbak without a picture of the unique Santa road sign! You will find it along the main road down towards the town center and in the harbour. Make the most of the day and combine your visit with a ferry trip over to Oscarborg fortress.

Oscarsborg fortress

A few minutes by ferry from Sundbrygga in Drøbak, where the Oslofjord is at its narrowest, you will find Oscarsborg fortress. An idyllic coastal gem where a fort, museums, a guest harbor, restaurants and a historic fortress hotel set the mood for a great historical visit. Every summer, the Oscarsborg Opera is organized which is a unique and wonderful experience.

Eidsvoll 1814

The Eidsvoll building is one of Norway's foremost national symbols as the place where the Norwegian Constitution was written and signed in 1814. Not only is it a historically important building, but the architecture and interior design are quite special. We recommend that you join a tour to get all the details!

Henie Onstad Kunstsenter

The Henie Onstad Kunstsenter is an art center located in the beautiful park area at Høvikodden in Bærum next to the Oslofjord. Ever since its opening in 1968, the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter has been one of Norway's most important cultural buildings. The Instagram-friendly room Hymn of Life by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is permanently installed.

Trandum forest

A national historical monument and a very photogenic hiking area. Despite its gloomy and dark history, Trandum forest has become a destination for photographers. The old tank firing range is a good motif.

Spro mines, Nesodden 

Plan a trip to the old mines at Nordre Spro on Nesodden for an exciting journey. The mines were in operation from the 1880s until after the First World War. Wear good shoes as it can be slippery inside the caves. Not far from Spro, right by the Nesoddtangen ferry terminal, you will find Signalen Sjøbad. The restaurant has possibly the Oslo Fjord's best ocean view and serves Instagram-friendly food and focus on local ingredients.

Bærums Verk

Bærums Verk's history stretches back 400 years. The first smelting huts were built in 1610. Bærums Verk is idyllically situated next to the river Lomma. Here you will also find an outdoor sculpture park, eateries and a charming shopping street. Every year before Christmas, a traditonal Christmas market is organized, which has become a popular attraction for many visitors.

Nes church ruins

Nes church ruins are located on the headland where the rivers Glomma and Vorma meet. The area has a magnificent view of the river and Nesbygda. NB! It is not permitted to travel by car or other vehicles down to the church ruins at night. The road down to the ruin lies in a lovely cultural landscape and is recommended as short walk.

Holmsbu

Come and experience idyllic Holmsbu just outside Oslo. For more than 100 years, Holmsbu has attracted artists because of the beautiful light. Enjoy an ice cream at the harbor, browse galleries and shops and eat delicious seafood with a view of the town and the Oslo fjord.
