Nittedal’s landscape stands apart from the other municipalities on the Romerike plains. Nittedal is narrow valley situated below and between forest-clad hills. The valley floor is dominated by agriculture, The Nitelva River is the spine of the valley, as it winds and falls southward from Lake Harestuvannet on its way to Øyeren, and when the river is flowing low, it even allows canoeing.
