Why should people visit Drøbak?

Many people come to visit the Christmas Town because it is so beautiful. Drøbak is also very cozy and not bustling. In addition, we have many nice small shops that cannot be found elsewhere, especially women's boutiques. And that's the gem of Drøbak - it is completely free from chain stores and typical tourist shops. It feels authentic! Here, visitors get the feeling of an old-fashioned Christmas - we still write all the receipts by hand! It brings many back to their childhood.

What are your best cultural tips for Drøbak and Frogn?

Drøbak and Frogn have so much to offer, and they get a six out of six from me! There is a range in this municipality that is incredible. Just think, a small municipality has both the Oscarsborg Opera, Drøbak Aquarium, and Oscarsborg Fortress, festivals, church concerts, art exhibitions, the House of Cartoonists, the cultural center Smia, the Study Stage, the cultural school, Bølgen, a winter ski trail, and a rich history with all the beautiful wooden houses. In addition, we have plenty of dining places that serve food from all over the world! Living in Drøbak makes you kind, it's like being on vacation all year round!

What experiences in Drøbak and Frogn give you Christmas spirit?

When the winter lights are lit in the streets of downtown Drøbak - that's when I really feel the Christmas spirit. For me, Christmas is not about trends, but tradition. We must try to preserve the good old-fashioned Christmas we have here in Norway. It is truly unique. When I stand behind the counter at the Christmas House and hear the visitors talk about Christmas and their memories, or when I open all the Christmas letters sent to Santa's Post Office, I get a good feeling inside. Christmas spirit cannot be sold online; it's a feeling!
